Currently on the bench is a BC-221 frequency meter that I recently purchased. The fixed mica capacitors are old and I am in the process of replacing them. As of 1 January 2014, all of the fixed capacitors have been replaced. The meter functions as expected except for the crystal calibration. I mistakenly applied too much voltage to the meter and have probably damaged some of the ageing resistors in the B+ line. After that, cleaning the controls will be next.
I plan on using this as a sidetone monitor for the Heathkit DX-20 transmitter. I also want to use it as a receiver with some added circuitry.
